How to maintain a human hair wig

Human hair wigs are the favorite choice among celebrities. Because of the materials that were used, these wigs come close to the appearance of a magnificent head of hair. Human hair wigs are more pricey compared to synthetic hair wigs. This is because supplies of raw human hair is limited. The better the quality and the longer the hair, the higher the price. The hair is treated with dye, silicone and other preservatives.

Not because this type of wig typically looks like your real hair means that you will just treat it the way you do to your hair. This type of wig needs extra care to maintain its good shape and look. As said this could be costly and that is why it takes some efforts to keep your wig in good condition. Unless you have a lot of money to spend, then treating your wig like a disposable fake hair should be no problem.

The following are the basic method to keep your human hair wig in good condition for long time.

Protect you wig from oil. Your head should be clean when you wear your wig, or, you can use a wig cap under your wig to keep the wig from touching your hair. Our hair produces natural oils that is why you should keep your wig away from it.

Do not wash your wig often. As mention the wig is not the hair on your head that needs constant washing. It is suggestible to wash it after your sixth time of using it. Washing the wig constantly will make the fabric weaker.

Before you wash the wig make sure to detangle it. Use a wig brush and comb through the tangles. Make sure to do the brushing gently to avoid breaking the wig strands. Wash the wig with lukewarm water and shampoo that is especially created for wigs. Then, rinse it. Then apply wig conditioner on it. Let the conditioner stay on the wig on the amount of time that is suggested on the product label. Rinse your wig and squeeze out the water from it gently. Then put the wig on the wig stand and let it dry.
