Straightening a synthetic wig

Owners of wigs sometimes ask themselves how to straighten a curly or frizzy synthetic wig. There seem to be several ways to do so. A quite successful one is to use hot water to straighten the synthetic fibres as described in the following tutorial:

If you wish to try this out, please test if it doesn’t harm your wig on a small, not very visible area first; you are doing so on your own risk. Synthetic wigs can be damaged by excessive heat!
